Major attacks foiled in Ghazni

KABUL: Major attacks by militants were thwarted after police in southern Ghazni province arrested three suicide bombers who planned to carry out subversive activity in the province, said local official on Saturday.
Spokesman for acting governor of Ghazni, Shafiq Nang, said that three suicide attackers who planned to carry out attacks on government compounds were arrested by security forces in Ghazni.
He added that a fourth suicide attacker was killed during an exchange of fire with the security forces.
He said security forces went to the location of the suicide attackers in Ghazni city where a gun battle occurred between the security forces and four suicide attackers.
He also said that a suicide attacker was killed and three of them were arrested by the security forces. An official source in Ghazni said on condition of anonymity said that the suicide attackers were wearing uniforms of Quick Reaction Forces (QRF) and planned to target the QRF in Ghazni city.
